Handmade pottery is meant to be used, not shelved. A little care keeps it beautiful for decades.
Use your good bowls daily. Glazed stoneware is tougher than it looks; it handles the dishwasher and the oven, and the small variations in each piece are the maker's signature, not a flaw to protect against.
Let it patina. Unglazed feet and rims soften with use, and matte glazes deepen over years of handling. The most beautiful pieces in any home are usually the ones that have been part of the most meals.
