Northgate Review

Corrections policy

When we get something wrong, we put it right and say so. This is how.

Telling us

If you think something we published is wrong, write to the news desk with a link to the piece and what you think needs changing. The editor reads every correction request.

What we do

When a fact is wrong we correct the article and add a note at the end saying what changed and when. We do not quietly rewrite a piece after it is published.

Clarifications

Sometimes a piece is accurate but could be read the wrong way. We add a clarification at the end in the same way, so readers can see what we added.

Removing a story

We remove a published story only for a serious legal or safety reason, and we say so in its place. Asking us to take down an accurate story is a conversation with the editor, not a form.

Right of reply

Anyone a story is about can ask to respond. Where a reply adds something readers should know, we add it to the piece.
