Chainline is a community for city cyclists, home mechanics and weekend riders. Some of us ride to work every day, some come out when the sun does, and some mostly come for the tools. Everyone is welcome, and joining is free.
What happens here
- Forum. Ask about a noise, a fit or a route, and share the fix once you find it. It is split into Repairs, Rides, Commuting, Gear, Advocacy, and Buy and swap.
- Groups. Smaller circles around one interest, from tubeless tyres to cargo bikes and early commutes.
- Events. Fix-up night every Thursday from 19:00 at Unit 4, Mill Yard, rides that meet at the station clock, and online talks for the evenings when nobody wants to go out.
- Learn. Short courses taught by members, such as wheel truing and bike fit, and quizzes to test what you know.
- Routes. Loops members have ridden and mapped, with the distance and the climb.
- Articles. Guides and campaign notes worth keeping.
How to join in
Everything here is open to read, so look around first. When you want to ask a question, reply to a thread or come along to a ride, join Chainline. It is free and takes a minute.
Before you post, read the house rules. They are short.
Who runs it
Chainline is run by a committee of volunteers, with help from the members who lead rides, teach courses and keep Fix-up night going. If you would like to help, read Volunteer at Fix-up night or write to the committee.
