Chainline works because people are generous with what they know. These rules are short on purpose. Read them once before you post.
Be kind
Everyone was a beginner once. Answer the question that was asked, and never make fun of a bike, a budget or a first ride.
Be useful
- Search before you ask: the answer may already be in a solved thread.
- Give your thread a title that says what you need.
- When a reply solves your problem, mark it as the answer so the next rider finds it.
Keep it on topic
One question per thread, in the part of the forum it belongs to. Selling and swapping go in Buy and swap and nowhere else. No advertising, and no personal details of other people.
Fix safely
Advice here is shared in good faith by members, not by professionals. When a repair involves brakes, steering or anything load-bearing and you are not sure, ask a mechanic to check your work, or bring the bike to Fix-up night.
Look after each other
On group rides we wait at junctions and nobody is left behind. At Fix-up night we put the tools back where we found them.
If something is wrong
Report a post instead of replying to it. If anything here makes you uncomfortable, tell a volunteer or write to the committee. We will listen, and we will act.
